Apple could be delaying the release of its unannounced generation
iPhone from its typical summer debut to sometime in the fall due to the
Verizon iPhone 4.
For the last four years, Apple has released a new version of the
iPhone in June or July. And for the last three years, Apple has
unveiled the phone at its Wordwide Developers Conference (WWDC), held
sometime in June each year.
Earlier today, Apple announced the dates for the next WWDC. The announcement was unusual though. Apple’s SVP of marketing didn’t say anything about new hardware; in fact, it was all about software. “At this year’s conference we are going to unveil the future of iOS and Mac OS,” he said in the company’s press release, making it sound as if a new iPhone wasn’t high on the company’s agenda for WWDC.
The Loop chimed in, claiming it has heard that WWDC will be “a software show in 2011, not a hardware event.” Adding fuel to the fire is a new report that claims Apple has yet to order components for the iPhone 5. Apple typically orders the parts for its phones six months in advance, so if this rumor is true, then Apple won’t have enough time to assemble enough iPhones for a June or July 2011 release, even if it started ordering parts tomorrow.

For iPhone users who are also voracious readers, here’s something
good to look forward to. An app based on the bestselling literary
reference book “1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die” is soon to be
released in the App Store.
The 1001 Books App is the creation of John aka Arukiyomi. It is being developed in response to comments on John’s book blog asking him to create a native iOS app version of his popular downloadable spreadsheets conveniently listing the contents of the “1001 Books” book.
The source book, edited by Peter Boxall, is essentially a list of 1001 novels, short story collections and other fictional formats chosen and profiled by a number of international literary critics. Although by no means a definitive compilation, it aims to be a guide for avid readers of fiction, as it has long been for John. And soon, with the release of the 1001 Books App, this reading list will be just a few taps away, along with such features as book information links and personalized statistics.
The 1001 Books App launches in the App Store on Feb. 29.

As a lifelong book lover, I spend a ridiculous amount of time
browsing the classics and general fiction shelves of my favorite
bookstore. Often I see an interesting title and immediately wonder
whether it’s included in the “1001 Books” list. What I tend do is to
whip out my iPhone and go through a plain-text copy of the list that I
saved in my Notes app. It’s a rather troublesome task, so you can just
imagine how delighted I am that a searchable and feature-packed app
version of the list is coming soon. And I’m pretty sure that I am joined
in my excitement by other book-loving iPhone users as well. The 1001 Books App launches in the App Store on Feb. 29.

What makes it different from most other smartphones on the market is its “ultra-bright,” 15-lumen projector, which lets you project a 50-inch wide image on a wall – really handy for presentations or those moments when you want to share your holiday photos with your family and friends.
Interestingly enough, Samsung says the device has 6 GB of RAM memory, but we’re seriously doubting that, and will update the article when we learn more.
Update: apparently, what Samsung really meant was 768 MB of RAM memory, while the “6″ figure was referring to the memory speed – in gigabits. So, if you were hoping to have a smartphone that has more memory than most PCs, we have to disappoint you: the Galaxy Beam is not it.
